How AusVisaTime handles visa data
This page documents what we collect, how we check it, how calculator dates are produced and where the limits begin. Home Affairs remains the source of truth.

Three official records serve different jobs
We do not treat one page as a universal source. Processing times, visa rules and charges are published separately by the Department of Home Affairs.

Changes are checked before they can replace active data
A scheduled check runs on the 24th day of each month in Melbourne time for the processing pathways supported by the calculator. The same check can also be run manually when an earlier review is needed.
Suspicious does not mean publish
A failed or unusual result leaves the existing dataset unchanged for manual investigation. It is safer to show an older verified figure than silently publish malformed data.
The expected visa stream must still exist in the official catalogue.
Every mapped 50% and 90% result must be present and correctly formed.
The official publication date cannot move backwards or appear to be in the future.
The 90% checkpoint cannot be shorter than the 50% checkpoint.
An exact processing time cannot exceed ten years.
A very large one-run change is rejected for manual investigation.
How calculator dates are produced
You select a visa pathway and lodgement date. AusVisaTime adds the exact number of days behind the current official 50% and 90% checkpoints to that date. Where Home Affairs displays rounded months, the interface can retain that wording while exact published day values are used for date arithmetic.
Lodgement date + current checkpoint = displayed date
The result is a comparison with current published statistics—not a prediction based on your case file and not a guaranteed grant window.
What happens to calculator inputs
The calculator sends the selected subclass, pathway and lodgement date to the AusVisaTime server so it can return the two date checkpoints. It does not ask for your name, passport number, TRN, ImmiAccount credentials, email or documents.
The calculation code does not write these inputs to a user profile or application database. Standard hosting and security systems may temporarily process request metadata as part of operating and protecting the service.

Limitations and corrections
Official figures describe groups of completed cases—not your individual file.
Priorities, application completeness, health and character checks, requested evidence, annual program settings and case complexity can all affect timing. If something on AusVisaTime appears wrong or stale, tell us what page and source you checked so we can verify it.
