Parent visa queue release dates

Parent visa applications are capped and queued: only a set number of visas can be granted in each migration program year, and applications wait in a queue until places become available. Home Affairs does not publish 50% or 90% processing times for these visas. It publishes queue release dates instead, together with a yearly estimate for new applications.

As at 31 August 2026, Contributory Parent applications (143 and 173) have been released through November 2018, Contributory Aged Parent applications (864 and 884) through November 2020, Parent applications (103) through March 2014 and Aged Parent applications (804) through October 2014.

Home Affairs estimates 18 years for a new Contributory Parent application and 42 years for a new Parent or Aged Parent application. It names no estimate for the Contributory Aged Parent visa. Open the page for your visa to compare your own queue date with the release point and to see the recorded history.
